Welcome to the board! I have been on this board about three to four months myself, and I feel qualified enough to answer several questions including the one that you asked about looking for opportunities within 100 miles of your home.
The first and obvious solution, would be to expand your range of miles you're willing to drive. Secondarily you might also consider taking even the smallest job that is two or three times away from your home, to get introduced to the racket, or the business as it is.
When I first started I had also listed 50 to 75 miles away from my home, but after answering a couple of ads for 200 miles away, i was suddenly getting flooded with other offers! All in all, it is a numbers game, for every 12 jobs I've applied to I've gotten two or three, and for every job that's out there, there's probably 15 people like you and i look in there hoping to get it. Just stay persistent and keep looking! Good luck to you and your search!
